| the 1980’s to the 1990’s, London was exploding and everything and anything was possible, the energy and atmosphere was electric and you could really smell the freedom of expression. In this time, fashion shows were a great spectacle, at times theatrical, people broke boundaries, it even went beyond that, you saw things that had never been seen before, that made you sit up and take notice, you very rarely see that now, where you would be in a show and think ‘WOW’ that is amazing and original. Money was a secondary concern, a spirit of can do reigned, models jumped at the chance of doing a shoot, not for the fame but because it would be a great story creatively. I love clothes and great style, style that stops you in your tracks, that makes your heart skip a beat, like when you hear great music, or see a piece of art or a fantastic photograph that momentarily stuns. London’s eccentricity, diversity peoples, history and creativity, create an element of energy that combines British Heritage and craft along with the traditions of many other nations, this gives way to fashion being influenced by different cultures and histories. Other influences on fashion come from many quarters, kids in the street, music, films, and can be a comment on current policies in politics or the state of the economy.
